Product Description

The prepainted steel sheet in coil is a product obtained by subjecting a hot-dipped galvanized steel sheet, and galvalume steel sheet, or an aluminum sheet to a surface chemical treatment (coating), followed by baking and curing.

• The total thickness of the pre-panted galvanized steel coil is composed of the base steel - coating -primer - top paint - protective layer thickness. The top paint thickness is 10-25μm, and the back paint thickness is 5-20μm. The thinner the base steel thickness, the higher the price of the ppgi steel coil, because the processing cost becomes higher.
• Usually, the paint coating material is polyester (PE) and the color of the back paint is white grey. The color can be customized according to the RAL color card or customer samples. Special patterns can be made, such as wood grain, flower print, camouflage, brick.

1) PPGI is also known as prepainted galvanized steel coil and color coated steel coil, with a hot dip zinc coated steel sheet substrate.

2) PPGL is also known as prepainted galvalume steel coil, with a galvalume steel sheet as a substrate.

Type Of Coating

The coating types currently used for PPGI/PPGL steel coil including PE, PVDF, SMP, Acrylic, PVC, etc.

PE 

The PE color-coated steel sheet is easy to process and form because of its good adhesion, and the price is relatively cheap. But accordingly, it possesses certain UV and anti-aging properties. PE color coated steel can be used for the roof of ordinary civil buildings.

SMP

SMP steel plate has better durability, and the cost is higher than the PE coating. Silicone is not as good as PE in terms of adhesion and processing formability to materials,

High Durable Polyester (HDP)

It is better than ordinary SMP coatings, and it has good outdoor weather resistance. It could have as long as 16 years of life time. 

PVC

PVC coating has nice anti-chemical and anti-water characters, and the coasting is relatively thick, which can well protect the substrate.

Using PVC coating PPGI sheets should consider it's pulution to the environment.

PVDF

PVDF coatings have great color retention and corrosion resistance. Among the PPGI sheet coating for construction, it is the highest grade.

Acrylic

The comprehensive performance is good, the price is expensive, and it is only used in specific fields (such as containers).
